Breathing Tools

There are so many tools parents and educators can do to demonstrate proper breathing to kids. Why is this so important? Proper breathing brings better health in every sense of the word. To learn proper breathing at a young age will allow our children to develop resilience tools for their entire lives during periods of stress and anxiety. Here are some basic explanations on how to use each of these tools: For each of these, have your student/child sit with their legs crossed and a tall back.✨ 🌈Slinky: Hold the slinky in your hands, take a deep breath in and stretch the slinky long. Deep breath out and close the slinky. 💥Hoberman Sphere: Hold the sphere in your hands, take a deep breath in and open the sphere. Deep breath out and close
the sphere. 🌷Pinwheel: Hold the pinwheel in both hands, take a deep breath in. Then take a deep breath out and blow the pinwheel ….watch it spin! 💓Juggling Scarf: Hold the scarf with two hands in front of your face. Take a deep breath in and then a deep breath out and watch the scarf blow in the wind. 🐹Stuffy: Lie down on your back and hold the stuffy on your belly. As you breath in and out watch the stuffy ride up and down on your belly! 🦚Feathers: hold a few feathers in your hand. Take a deep breath in and blow the feathers off of your hand. How far can you blow them? For extra fun, use a straw and blow them across the floor or a table. Have a race with a friend! Written by Little Yogis: @littleyogisca
